how to buy a laptop

so i don't really know much about technology and which hard drive is compatible with whatever but when purchasing a laptop for college, there were a few things i wanted. Firstly it needed to be light so i could carry it around. I wanted it to look nice and have wifi. I went up to power city where a lovely gentleman showed me a few and gave me some information. In the end i went for a mini dell one. it is pink. it cant take cds but i dont really need cds anyway. I then needed to buy powerpoint so i could download some of the lecture notes to study with. My mini laptop might not have all the bells ad whistles but it has a nice web cam and other things. I didnt need that much space because all i really download is music. (I dont know what else to say...)

For my second article I decided to look for one to do with how headphones affect hearing. I am constantly listening to music on full blast so I thought it would be interesting to see if my parents are right when they constantly bitch about them being up to high and how lm going to be deaf by the time I’m thirty. I found a nice article through google on the subject. It was an easy enough read and it wasn’t too long. It went through what our ears can be subjected to without doing damage and what they cant. It went through the various problems associated with wearing headphones and listening to music and it went through the reasons we listen to music like for drowning out sound etc. It had a picture describing the anatomy of hearing loss. It had tables showing the levels of what we hear on a daily basis and it showed the difference between loudspeaker and headphones. I found the article through google which lead me to a website about how stuff works. It was quite a long article and went through viruses in a great amount of detail. There were 7 sections to the article. They went through what a virus is, how they are made, how they reproduce, the damage that can be done, virus evolution, worms, history of viruses and how to prevent them. There were a few interesting facts in the article like in January 2004, approximately a quarter of a million computers were affected by the “Mydoom worm” in a few hours and I never knew that the reason they are called viruses is because they contain the same traits as a biological virus. They pass from computer to computer like a biological virus passes from person to person. The site also goes through why one would start a virus. It says that there are about 3 reasons. The first is the same reason that drives vandals, a thrilling feeling that comes with unnecessary destruction. Second is the thrill of watching something blow up. The third is bragging rights. The article has an interesting video that explains Trojan viruses. Viruses were first spotted in the late eighties. Viruses are constantly getting more and more advanced which is why anti viral software has to be updated every few months. I found the article very useful because not only does it describe how they are formed, it also has handy tips and links to useful sites to help you to keep your pc protected.
